‘Learn and Believe, Aspire and Achieve’

Spring

School may not be open at the moment but there are still activities we can do at home!

Having extra time at home means you can practise your tricky words. Take your pack out of your bookbag and get busy, read them, write them or pretend to be the teacher! Test your parents!

Idea! Have a look at your bedtime stories at home, comics and other stories and see if you can spot and sight read the tricky words that you recognise.

Idea! Write a shopping list for you parents, use your writing skills and phonics skills, go shopping and select the items from the list. Make sure you put chocolate on the list!

Idea! Design an egg. use your creative skills to make your own amazing design.

Idea! make your own Easter Bonnet as we will still be having our Easter Bonnet Parade after the holiday.

Subitize Up to 5 (soo-bi-tize) | Math Song For Kids | Jack Hartmann

Subitize is the ability to tell the number of objects in a set, quickly, without counting. In this subitizing song name the numbers in each set of dots, ten frames and fingers. Subitizing develops math fluency, when students recognize sets without having to count each object and it helps develop number sense and the ability to perform mental math.

Have a go at writing your numbers, remember practise makes perfect! Can you write numbers to 10, 20 or beyond? use coloured pencils and felt pens and make them fancy! Bring the results in after the holidays to show me.
