Could a Bog Baby survive at Lane End?
Microhabitats in the Wildlife Garden
We are so lucky to have a wonderful Wildlife Garden at our school. We enjoyed exploring the garden in search of microhabitats. We made sure that we lifted rocks and twigs with care so as not to frighten any living creatures. Whilst we explored, we were hoping to find a Bog Baby, and did find some clues, such as a mysterious egg keeping warm under a plant pot. But so far, no Bog Baby has been found. Keep your eyes peeled!
Creating information posters about Habitats
The children have made a great start with their information posters about a woodland habitat.
They used the PicCollage App to show their scientific knowledge about what animals and living things can be found in a woodland habitat.
We are dotty about Art!
This half-term, our amazing artwork is inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. We learnt that the 'Princess of polka dots' has created lots of paintings, sculptures, installations...all featuring dots! First, we recapped how to create secondary colours and how to add tints and tones using black and white paint. Next, we practised painting a picture using cotton buds, taking inspiration from Yayoi Kusama's artwork.
