‘Learn and Believe, Aspire and Achieve’

Lane End - part of our wider community!

Leeds United International Superstar is Lane End’s new teacher*!

This week the children in Year 5 had their first Modern Foreign Language lesson with their new teacher*—Rodrigo from Leeds United FC! Leeds Utd TV turned up also, to film the special event. Rodrigo, who also plays for the Spanish national team, helped the children to learn lots of sporting vocabulary and also to say our school motto in Spanish!

The children also had opportunity to quiz Rodrigo about his sporting achievements and ambitions, and to find out more about playing for our very own Leeds United. Thank you Leeds United and Rodrigo for both teaching and  inspiring us—and thank you for being our MFL teacher, even if it was only for *one very special lesson!

Aprender, Creer, Aspirar, Lograr!

A book for every Child

This week we were gifted 447 copies of the Emergency Penguin Story by the local Slung Low Theatre Group from Holbeck. They have adapted one of their plays into a book and gifted them to local schools. What a lovely surprise for all our children to take home!

Slung Low Theatre sent us chocolates.

Slung Low Theatre have sent gifts to our lovely Children again. They very kindly gave every pupil in school an individual Monster Chocolate decorating Kit.  Some classes have enjoyed decorating these in school others will have brought them home.

Cards for Pennington Court

This year as we were unable to send the choir to sing carols at Pennington Court. Instead, the children across the school made Christmas cards for the Elderly residents to spread some Christmas cheer.
Our school choir made their annual visit to Pennington Court to sing for the residents.

A little teaser of the amazing singing of the choir!

Radio Aire's Cash for Kids Appeal

Cash for Kids, along with Radio Aire, donating £1000's to Lane End!

Lane End Primary are very fortunate in being chosen to benefit from a Cash for Kids scheme, funded by 'The Postcode Lottery', that aims to help families to get ready for winter by providing an extra set of warm, winter set of clothes and shoes.

The school was given £1000's of vouchers, to be spent at Primark, on warm coats, jumpers, hats, scarves, trousers - really anything that will provide some extra items for some families  that will to help keep children warm and toasty through the winter months.

The manager of Primark, Trinity Leeds, Phil Woodcock and his team of staff were very kind and worked hard to get our massive order of clothes and shoes together - which took many visits and time to get sorted.

We are now looking forward to sharing them with some of our families.

Thank you Cash for Kids, The Postcode Lottery, Radio Aire and Primark!

Wonderful Primark staff getting our order sorted...

It was all ready to give to our families!

Look North even came to film the event

Look North featured the story on the evening news
