Multilingual Learning

Here at Lane End Primary School we are passionate about celebrating diversity whilst being inclusive.

Our aim, as a school, is to make sure that all of our children make progress and this includes our multilingual pupils.

64% of our pupils have English as an addition language, or are New to English, and over 20 different languages are spoken in our school.

To make sure that our pupils, who have EAL/NTE, can access the curriculum as their peers do, we have a variety of strategies that are implemented across the whole school and groups that these pupils can attend to help develop their learning skills.

Below are some examples of the provision, here at Lane End Primary, that supports our multilingual pupils.

DELS- Developing English Language Skills

DELS work on building up vocabulary in a number of different ways. This could be stories, seasons, people and much more!
