Maple Class Year 3B

Welcome to Maple Class

School Closure Wednesday 27th March

Miss Upfold, Miss Ellis and Miss Ly are so sorry that we've had to close school due to piping issues. We look forward to seeing you after Easter. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and Eid Mubarak to those who celebrate!

In the meantime, we've thought of some activities to keep you busy until we're back in class again.

For Maths, you can access your TT rockstars and see if you can get more green on your 2s, 5s, 10s, and 4s! How fast can you answer multiplication questions? Can you beat a previous score?

In English we had just finished creating an information text on the Romans. We found out some amazing facts - can you tell your parents what you learnt? Maybe you can record yourself teaching your adults about the Roman invasion of Britain.

In art this half term, we used nature as an inspiration to create 'moody' sketches. Grab a pencil and a paper and show off your shading techniques. Enjoy some time in nature and sketch a flower or a tree - anything you want! Can you use shading and toning to create a mood?

We hope to see our amazing Maple class again soon!

We have lots of exciting learning, trips and experiences in the year ahead and we look forward to sharing this with you on our class page.

Your child needs to bring their own named water bottle to school every day (water only).

Please make sure you are reading your childs reading book with them as much as you can at home.

Please come to school wearing P.E. kits on Thursday.

Which is blue or black bottoms and a white top.

If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to a member of staff in Maple, contact the office or speak to a member of staff on the gates who will be happy to help.

Parent Information

At Lane End, Reading will be the main expectation of work to be completed at home. Being a good reader is the key to making great progress in all areas of learning.

Other Learning opportunities at home

If you wish to support your child's learning in other ways too, you will have information about the areas of learning your child will be focusing on in class, explained in the curriculum newsletters that come home every half term.

These can also be found on the class page, under each topic heading icon. For example, you could work with your child to find out more about the history, geography or science topics that they are learning about.

Also your child’s teacher might on occasion set extra challenges for you to try at home such as spelling tests or something to research at home linked to the current learning topic.
