PHONICS - Week 2
Here are some fun games you can play to help you practise the sounds and words you have learnt so far. Don't forget to share your work with your teachers.  Year2@laneendprimary.org.uk

 

Miss Stylianidou’s group

This week let’s practise blending for reading.
Blend the sounds, say the word, then close your eyes and try to write it down.

Can you spell them correctly? Make it fun and use different coloured pencils!

Join in with the song to help you remember all of the tricky spellings.
CHALLENGE: Ask a grown up or an older relative to say a tricky word from this list: said, have, like, come, what, some, when

Enjoy investigating the alternative spellings for the /ear/ sound.
Phoneme Spotter - There are a few different ways to spell the /ear/ sound. Read aloud the ‘Cinderella’ poster carefully and see if you can find them all! Make a list of the words.
Word sort – Read the word, drag it to the correct column
CHALLENGE: Write sentences using the words you have found. For example:
