Each week in your Maths home learning there will be two different types of activities. There will be a main key objective and a Maths fluency key objective. The main objective this week is to order fractions. The Maths fluency key objective is to identify multiples and factors. Remember to keep working on your times tables using Times Tables Rockstars.
There are fraction activities available in the homework section on Education City, In addition have a look at the fractions activities on the Mathletics website.
Each Friday we will post the answers to the challenges.
KO: I can order fractions
To help you understand this week's Key Objective please watch the video below.
If you are able to make fraction strips that would be great. If not, another resource we can use is a Fraction Wall.
Use the fractions strips you have made or the fraction wall above to work out the order of the two fractions. Write the two fractions and the symbol into your book.
If you need to, use the fraction strips or the fraction wall to help you answer each questions. In your books write the two fractions and the correct symbol between them. For example,
1. 2/4 < 2/3
If you need to, use the fraction strips or the fraction wall to help you answer each questions. In your books write the two fractions and the correct symbol between them. For the last questions you need to order all the fractions from smallest to largest.
KO: To identify multiples and factors
To help you achieve this objective there is a game you are going to play.
To help play the game you will need to know what Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) means and also Highest Common Factor (HCF) means. Below are diagrams to help you.
