Monday 29th June - Shape, Space and Measure
We learn how to describe where we are in nursery as we build up our vocabulary to do position.
Key words/phrases to know are:
On top of
Under
Above
Next to
Near
Beside
Over
We use these in sentences all the time:
'I am standing next to the teacher'
'I am under the table'
Try these activities and fun games to describe where you are and practise using positional language! We speak in full sentences in nursery so practise using words such as 'beside', 'next', and 'over' in a sentence.
Remember to still do these activities safely if you decide to use the park and with people in your safe bubble!
Wednesday 1st July - Number
Jack Hartmann is brilliant for counting videos and he helps us learn how to subitise. Subitise is a fancy word to describe being able to see how many items there are immediately. This video will help you think quickly how many are there. Try and say the number before he tells you the answer and towards the end of the video, copy the fingers he shows.
