Covid-19 - How can I help my child to read when they cannot be in school?

While it is not possible to provide your child with their usual, frequently updated reading book, there are digital options that you can access.

Parents can sign up for free to access reading books like the ones we have in school through the Oxford Owl website. The document below explains how to access books at your child's book band colour level. Check which colour your child is reading by looking on the back or spine of their book or by emailing the class teacher through the year group email address.

Your class teachers will be providing links to reading content on the class learning page too. Look out for links to digital books, videos of stories and poems being read for your child to enjoy, phonics and tricky words activities and reading question activities.

Older children may like to read a chapter book a week using the Oak Academy's Virtual Library. A new book will become available on a Sunday for 1 week and can be read on the website below. Use the links further down to access other books and reading activities.
