Can you throw a rainbow party?

In week 3 of Spring 2, Acorns were challenged to learn how to throw a rainbow party. Lots of preparation needed. There was also a special celebration we had to find out about that involves lots of colour.

We discovered the special celebration was called Holi and it was a Hindu festival. We watched videos of a Hindu family preparing for it and then celebrating with family and friends.

The children came up with brilliant ideas on what to prepare for the party. They decided to create party hats, write invitations and make rainbow cakes in the teaching kitchen to enjoy on Friday, the day of our rainbow party.

We had a game of musical bumps and enjoyed party food in our special rainbow party clothes. At the end of the day, the children also had the delight of throwing powder paint at Miss Blackburn in true Holi style!
