Autumn
In our first week back we have been immersed in the theme of 'Leaf Man'. We have been doing observational drawings of leaves, writing letters to the leaf man and working out how many leaves have dropped off the trees!
We went on a walk to find different leaves and had fun trying to find our class tree and its leaves!
The parents came and helped us to create our own 'Leaf man'!
Adding and Subtraction
This half term we have been using our amazing knowledge of place value to start adding and subtracting. We looked at number bonds to ten and even adding amounts together and recording it using the correct maths symbols. We are maths mad in Silver Birch!!

Number bonds to 10
We had a special visitor in school from The Dog's Trust this half term. It was a black pug called Winnie. THe children learnt how to look after Winnie and what you need to do if they ever get a dog.
Place Value
We have been looking place value this half term and testing our knowledge on counting forwards, counting backwards, one more one less and even counting in 2's. Here is some of the amazing work we have been doing!!
